TWO CLEAR WAYS FORWARD

What problem do you want to solve?

You do not need to understand batteries or inverters. Start with what you want your home to do.

Backup without solar

Keep the essentials running.

The grid charges your battery while power is available. When ICE goes down, your system switches over automatically.

Solar + backup

Make your own power. Keep it for later.

Solar powers your home during the day and charges the battery. Stored energy covers the evening and protects you when the grid fails.

SOLAR THAT WORKS FOR YOUR HOME

Use what you generate.

The goal is simple: buy less electricity from ICE by using your own solar power — immediately or later from your battery.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Solar and battery backup, explained simply.

Clear answers for homes in Santa Teresa, Mal País, Santiago, Cóbano and Montezuma.

Can I install battery backup without solar?

Yes. ICE charges the battery while grid power is available. During an outage, the system switches automatically and supplies the circuits selected for your home. Solar can be added later.

What happens when ICE power goes out?

The inverter detects the outage and the battery takes over automatically. How long it runs depends on the battery size and which appliances are being used.

What can a home battery keep running?

That is designed around your priorities. Typical essentials include refrigerators, internet, lights and water pumps. Larger loads such as air conditioning or water heaters require careful sizing.

Will solar reduce my ICE bill?

Solar can reduce how much electricity you buy from ICE by powering the home during daylight and charging a battery for later. The result depends on your consumption, roof, system size and daily habits.

Do you sell excess solar power back to ICE?

No. We do not install systems for grid feed-in. The systems are designed to use solar energy in the home and store available energy in the battery.

How do you decide what system I need?

We start with your ICE bills, outage experience and important appliances. Then we inspect the property and electrical installation before proposing the inverter, battery and solar capacity.

Do you provide local support after installation?

Yes. Suntiago Energy is based in the area, so you have one direct contact with knowledge of the zone instead of waiting for a team to travel from San José.
